The Death of the Queen

Her Royal Majesty the Queen sadly passed away today aged 96 at one of her favourite places, Balmoral.

The Royal Family confirmed this deeply sad news in a statement which read: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”

Queen Elizabeth II reigned for 70 years, shared four children, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren with her late husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, who died in April 2021 aged 99.

Known for her amazing sense of humour and quick wit she was much loved and well respected across the globe.

King Charles III made a statement saying: ‘The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family.’

Her Royal Majesty was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
